Lawrie McKinna's time in charge of the Central Coast Mariners will come to an end this week with Socceroos assistant Graham Arnold to take up the head coaching role at the club from next season.

Lawrie McKinna, who played for Kilmarnock in Scotland before moving to Australia in the mid 1980s, is one of only two A-League coaches to have coached since the A-League's inception and he has built his side on a model of consistency.
The Mariners made the Grand Final in their first season, losing 1-0 to Sydney, while they missed out on finals action in 2006-07. On the back of some very canny recruiting, the Mariners claimed the Premiership in 2007-08, but lost out 1-0 again in a controversial decider against the Newcastle Jets. They would make the finals again after finishing fourth in 2008/09, but continued a late-season form slump to bow out in the first week. They then failed to make it past the group stage in the Asian champions League, putting considerable pressure on McKinna heading into this season.
