Sydney FC failed to contain Melbourne striker Archie Thompson for 20 minutes the last time the teams met, so how are they going to handle the livewire striker over a full game in Saturday's Hyundai A-League grand final?

Ernie Merrick is one of only two A-League coaches to have led their team through the first four seasons. The Scottish-born coach led Melbourne to the Premiership-Championship double in his second season in charge, culminating in a 6-0 win in the Grand Final against Adelaide. While the title defence did not go as planned in 2007-08, in 2008-09, Merrick oversaw an unprecedented treble as the Victory won the Pre-Season Cup, Premiership and Championship.
