Adelaide United has stepped up preparations for their critical final AFC Champions League group match against Chinese outfit Changchun Yatai.
The Reds had a hit out with the Qantas Under 23s at Parramatta Stadium on Monday afternoon and the good news for Adelaide is that its marquee player Paul Agostino made a successful return from illness.
The striker played out the final 15 minutes of the 2-0 loss to the Under 23s and now looks set to take his place in the side that will fly out to China on Saturday.
Defender Milan Susak was another who benefited from the trial as he got another 45 minutes under his belt in the lead-up to the match with Changchun.
United clash with Changchun on May 21 and they need a draw to become the first ever Australian side to make it through to the knockout phase of the regional championship.
