Perth striker Mile Sterjovski says he and his team-mates can improve enormously on their already promising form of the past fortnight.
The Glory return home on a high this week and host the North Queensland Fury on Saturday following two away wins against the Brisbane Roar and Newcastle Jets.
The consecutive victories have them equal with Gold Coast United on 13 points atop the Hyundai A-League table.
Despite scoring twice and having four goal assists, Sterjovski feels he is far from playing his best football and it's the same with the team even though it is winning.
"I'm happy that I've contributed to a lot of goals, but I'm only playing at 50 or 60 per cent. I feel there is a lot more to come from me and also the team," Sterjovski said.
"We aren't playing particularly well, but it's a good sign that we are equal first on the table without hitting top gear yet. It's good times ahead. I don’t think we've had the best start to the season, but we've fought our way back and are very happy to be sitting second on the table."
Saturday's meeting at ME Bank Stadium will be the first time Perth has played North Queensland, and despite the Fury sitting on the bottom of the table, Sterjovski expects a tough battle from Robbie Fowler's side.
"We are looking forward to the game. They are on the bottom of the table, but that doesn’t mean a thing. They will still be a difficult team to play against. Hopefully we get a big crowd to support us and we can continue our good run," he said.
"It won't be an easy game and we have to go out to play hard, and go out for the result. Home is where we at our strongest and teams find it hard to travel all this way. To get as many points at home is the key to the season, and then to nip some away."
Sterjovski is hoping to be selected by Pim Verbeek in the Socceroos squad for upcoming matches with the Netherlands and Oman on October 10 and 14 in Sydney and Melbourne.
He also believes if the Glory performs well as a team it will help his and his team-mates' chances of going to the World Cup.
"Wanting to do well for Perth Glory is the main objective and if we do well as a team I'm sure Pim Verbeek is going to be looking at why we are doing so well. Then there should be a few players chosen in the squad," he said.
"We haven't heard anything, but hopefully we do in the next few days. I'm looking forward to hopefully being in the squad and getting some game time."
"It's a difficult situation because you want to be playing for Perth, but the World Cup is approaching and you want to be part of every Socceroos squad. It's difficult for Mitch (coach Dave Mitchell) and the club, but it's something we have to deal with. I'm sure we have the depth to deal with it."
