Aussies shine on second tier

Australian David Lutterus has produced his best finish in a US tournament after claiming a share of third place on the Nationwide Tour's Fort Smith Classic in Arkansas.

The South Australian carded a final-round 69 to finish at nine-under, just three shots behind American Colt Knost, who fired a five-under 65 on Sunday to turn a six-stroke deficit into a one-shot win.

Another American, Darron Stiles, was third on 11-under.

Lutterus' performance continued Australia's excellent run on the secondary tour this year. Australians have won five of the nine tournaments contested so far.

Big-hitter Won Joon Lee and Scott Gardiner finished tied for 37th at even-par, while Cameron Percy was one-over.
