Gleeson leads in Cambodia

19/11/2009 10:02 PM

Australian David Gleeson has taken a one-stroke lead after the first round of the Cambodian Open on Thursday.

Gleeson started the tournament with a five-under-par first round of 67 which included six birdies and a bogey at the 9th hole.

Gleeson is holding back a chasing pack of six all on four-under while compatriot Neven Basic is a stroke further back on three-under in equal eighth spot.

Basic's round-one 69 was highlighted by back-to-back birdies at No.1 and 2 as well as No.16 and 17.

But three bogeys at the 8th, 12th and 18th cost the Australian dearly.

Aussies Marcus Both and Chris Campbell are another shot behind on two-under while Gavin Flint and Peter Cooke shot first rounds of one-under to be in a share of 24th position.
