Brisbane talent Israel Folau has dismissed speculation he will jump codes and sign with Melbourne's Super 15 expansion franchise.
The 20-year-old said he wasn't in a hurry to make a move, let alone one that would have him switch codes.
The behemoth centre has also declared he's overcome a shoulder injury and will start in the Broncos' Monday night fixture against Canberra.
Folau damaged his AC joint in last Friday's NRL derby clash against North Queensland and has been in doubt for Brisbane's first match at Canberra Stadium since an embarrassing 56-0 loss to the Raiders last year.
Folau played with the pain against the Cowboys and told the media on Friday he was confident of taking the field.
The Test star also quashed rumours he would sign with the Melbourne Rebels, the latest addition to the Super 14 competition.
The Rebels this week announced the first players to sign for their maiden campaign in 2011.
Folau shifted to Brisbane last season to be closer to his family after starting his NRL career with the Melbourne Storm.
"I love the Broncos, after one year here I'm really enjoying it and I feel a lot more comfortable around the club now," Folau said.
"I haven't had one thought about that, my main focus is on trying to play good footy with the Broncos, I let my manage deal with all that sort of stuff."
"My family is here and that was something that I came back for - it's good to have them around and I'd love to stay around the club for as long as I can."
Folau, who possess an incredible vertical leap that would make him a reasonable target for an AFL club, is contracted until the end of the current season, with an option for an extension until 2013.
The devout Mormon has been thrust into the centres this year in the absence of Justin Hodges, and has taken on a leadership role this season, nurturing the likes of Corey Norman, Matt Gillett and Mitchell Dodds - who all made their debuts against the Cowboys last week.
Folau - who burst onto the scene as a talented teenager and became the youngest Australian Test player in 2007 - admitted it was a little weird to be assuming the 'veteran' mantle before his 21st birthday.
"It is a little bit strange...I feel a bit old even though I'm only 20, but I'm happy to be in that leadership role for those younger guys coming through... and hopefully I can help them out," he said.
Folau was one of a host of Broncos regulars to be missing in Round 21 last year when the club crashed to a record loss to Canberra, its lowest point of the season.
He said there were no parallels that could be drawn between then and now.
"We haven't spoken about it at all this week, all that stuff was in the past and we'd like to forget about that and move on."
"We're certainly focusing on ourselves and what we can do...it's always tough playing in Canberra and everyone hast to be switched on."
