Menzies praises composure

Manly veteran Steve Menzies has praises his team's composure after the Sea Eagles rallied from a half-time deficit to comprehensively beat Brisbane 30-12 at Suncorp Stadium.
The 34-year-old played his part in the Sea Eagles' excellent second half - during which they scored 24 unanswered points - diving over for his first four-pointer of the season in his team's second win in Brisbane in as many years.
Menzies said he was not surprised by the Sea Eagles' sluggish start given they were coming off a break, but that the final 60 minutes were excellent.
"We haven't been playing too bad, but we were coming off a bye and lost a little bit of momentum there. I suppose they were a bit unlucky they lost a couple of players, which helped us a bit. But it was a good win," he said.
"We were under the pump early in that first half and I thought we fought our way back to 12-6 at half time. Really good composure and just a good effort to go on and win in the second half."
Menzies was returning to the team after a hamstring injury, but showed no signs of soreness when put into a gap by Matt Orford midway through the second half. Having not scored a four-pointer since last year's finals series, the Manly legend was delighted and praised Orford's game.
"That's about my distance these days, about 12 metres," he joked. "He's been going great, Ox. He just keeps getting better and better."
Manly, which will likely be fourth at the end of the round but just two points off equal top spot, plays the Cowboys next Saturday night. The Sea Eagles have now won four of their past five after losing their first two games of the season.
