Panthers rookie outed by judiciary

Penrith rookie Sam McKendry will miss this week's game after choosing not to contest a kneeing charge.
The joy of McKendry's NRL debut in the Panthers 46-22 victory over the Warriors at CUA Stadium on Sunday was soured by an 11th-minute incident in which the 18-year-old Junior Kiwi dropped his knees into an opponent.
But with the grade-one dropping knees charge bringing with it 200 points and a two-week ban if he had chosen to contest at the judiciary on Wednesday night, McKendry accepted a one-match suspension and 50 carryover points.
South Sydney's David Kidwell has avoided a suspension for his chicken-wing tackle on Canberra's Glen Turner on Monday night, Kidwell instead carrying over 93 points to any future charges.
And Raider Scott Logan, also charged following his team's easy win over the Rabbitohs at Canberra Stadium, chose not to contest a grade-one careless high tackle charge and will carry over 56 demerit points.
