Webb inks new deal with Cowboys

20/05/2008 2:50:59 PM

North Queensland enforcer Carl Webb has extended his deal with the Cowboys until the end of the 2010 season.

Webb, who has played 63 games with the club's first grade since crossing from Brisbane in 2005, will line up at starting prop for Queensland in Wednesday night's Origin battle.

The powerful Webb found time in the lead-up to the clash with New South Wales to ink the new deal and put a smile on the face of Cowboys chief executive Peter Parr.

"This is a terrific signing for the club. Carl has played his best football at the Cowboys and we look forward to that continuing," Parr said.

Webb, who played with the Broncos and was the Brisbane club's rookie of the year in 2000, made his Test debut for Australia against New Zealand earlier this year.
