Kovalainen a fan of Hungary

Lotus driver Heikki Kovalainen is hoping the track at this weekend's Formula One Grand Prix in Hungary can give him an advantage.

The Finn feels that the Hungaroring circuit will boost his chances of claiming a result.

"I am also looking forward to seeing the gap to the cars ahead of us. It might be less here than let's say a circuit like Silverstone," he said.

"A very high speed circuit is something that is not good for our car and that peak downforce at high speed is something that we are lacking, so hopefully that will play into our hands a little bit as well."

Kovalainen admitted the reliability of his car was 'still a concern' but spoke about his team's effort and dedication to make sure both he and team-mate Jarno Trulli will finish this weekend's race.

Kovalainen joined Polish driver Robert Kubica in claiming that this weekend's race was similar to a home Grand Prix for him, the Finn pointing to the swarm of Finnish racing fans that descend on Hungary as reason for him to feel at home this weekend.

"It is sort of a home race for me as there a lot of Finns normally turning up here. I am looking forward to coming back," Kovalainen said.

Kubica had said earlier this week: "We usually see a lot of Polish fans coming to Budapest. It's sort of a home grand prix for me and the Polish fans."

Kovalainen's only Grand Prix victory came in Budapest back in 2008 and the Finn described it as a 'special place'.
