Sydney Roosters forward Mark O'Meley's has played his last match for the club after he agreed to join UK Super League side Hull on a three-year-deal.
O'Meley, who will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee this week that will rule him out for the remainder of the year, will depart the club at the end of the season.
The Roosters have released the 28-year-old of the final year of his contract and coach Brad Fittler said his leadership will be greatly missed.
Despite the Roosters sitting in last place on the ladder, O'Meley believes the club is heading in the right direction.
"I have had a wonderful time at the Roosters and am able to take some great memories with me," said O'Meley.
"Whilst it has been a lean season this year I am excited about the future of the club and the young players that we have coming through."
"I am sad to be leaving but am looking forward to the experience over in the UK and it will be nice to be there alongside Fitzy and our families."
O'Meley joined the club is 2008 and made an instant impact, voted Clubman of the Year in his first year and he has also played a key off-field role in the development of young players coming through the ranks who are now making an impact on the field.
