Windies bat in Adelaide

Windies bat in Adelaide

09/02/2010 2:18 PM

West Indies have won the toss and elected to bat in the second one-day international against Australia at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

The tourists will be looking for a quick turnaround after being belted by 113 runs in game one at the MCG on Sunday.

Despite the result the Windies selectors have kept the faith in their players by naming an unchanged line-up. The true wicket at Adelaide Oval should aid the visiting side and its stroke makers - captain Chris Gayle notched an unbeaten century at the ground during the second Test in December while Kieron Pollard enjoyed the short boundaries during his time playing with the Redbacks.

Australia, which is aiming for a series whitewash, has rested in-form quick Ryan Harris and recalled Clint McKay for another crack at the top level.

James Hopes will carry the drinks for Australia while Darren Sammy is 12th man for the visitors.

Australia: Shane Watson, Shaun Marsh, Ricky Ponting (c), Cameron White, Michael Clarke, Michael Hussey, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Hauritz, Clint McKay, Doug Bollinger. 12th man: James Hopes

West Indies: Chris Gayle (c), Runako Morton, Travis Dowlin, Lendl Simmons, Narsingh Deonarine, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Smith, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Nikita Miller, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach. 12th man: Darren Sammy
