Serena Williams has warned her Wimbledon rivals there is more to come after demolishing Jarmila Groth on Court One.
Last year's beaten finalist looked at ease as she recorded a routine 6-2 6-1 win over her Australian opponent.
Although she did lose her serve once in the second set, she was otherwise unchallenged as she sailed to victory in less than an hour.
Williams' first break came courtesy of a trademark two-handed backhand return down the line in the fourth game of the match.
She followed that up with a service game to love and, aided by three Groth double faults, claimed the set 6-2 with another break of serve in the eighth game.
The 2002 and 2003 Wimbledon winner was now in cruise control against a player who showed her fragility on serve time after time.
In the second game of the second set, Groth threw in another two double faults to hand a break to her opponent.
She then sent a smash into the bottom of the net to hand another break and an unassailable lead to Williams.
By now, the world No.69 had taken to swinging wildly and clawed back a break with a series of winners, but it was only a consolation as the American served out the win in 58 minutes.
"I thought I played really well today," said the American. "I knew she was going to be tough so I had to be ready for the match."
"For me there's always room for improvement though. I still think I could have returned better, come to the net a little bit more."
"That's exciting to think I can do better."
Williams already has an eye on the title, even though she is just three days into the Wimbledon fortnight.
"I should have won more than twice here but I didn't," she said. "And hopefully I can rectify that this year."
