US Open runner-up Caroline Wozniacki is the latest big name player to confirm her place at January's Sydney International.
The world No. 4 joins the likes of fellow top-10 players Serena Williams, Elena Dementieve and Victoria Azarenka as confirmed starters for the Australian Open lead-up tournament.
The 19-year-old reached the quarterfinals of the event this year and is looking forward to returning to the venue that launched her breakthrough 2009 season.
"I am really looking forward to coming back to Sydney which is such a beautiful city," Wozniacki said.
"I played some great tennis there earlier this year and it provided me with a lot of confidence because it gave me a great start to the season."
"2009 has been an amazing year for me and to reach my first Grand Slam final at the US Open was an important stepping stone in my career."
Tournament director Craig Watson was delighted to have the exciting Danish star at the event and is hoping to get more top 10 players in the coming weeks.
"We are expecting to have seven of the top 10 women in the world at the event next year and Caroline is a welcome addition to our already star-studded field at the Medibank International Sydney in 2010," Watson said.
"She is a talented and engaging athlete who won over the crowds in Sydney earlier this year when she took on Serena Williams in an intense quarter final clash on Ken Rosewall Arena."
Williams, Wozniacki, Dementieva, Azarenka and Australian world No.13 Samantha Stosur headline the women's field for the 2010 event, whilst top 20 men Lleyton Hewitt, Gael Monfils and Tomas Berdych are also confirmed.
